Apart from your own, the most important wedding you will ever attend is the ones of your best friends - especially...
JON & GREGOR'S WEDDING
It took less than a second for me to decide that I will wear MEHER KAKALIA boots to my wedding.
With my outfit being all handmade and embroidered all-over, the classic QUEEN BOOT was the perfect shoe to finish off my outfit.
Having worked with Meher for all those years, I am proud to have her represented in that way on this day. Lucky for me, we just started making some samples of men’s boots, so I could use them as a base for the ones I envisioned. I prefer softer leathers (especially since I was going to wear the boots all day), so suede was the obvious option. We have that luscious navy suede in our collection that worked perfectly with the boucle of my outfit. So that was a no-brainer.
Now to the embroidery: I opted for a bright gold colour in my embellishments, so I really wanted the embroidery on my boots to be in the same tone.
I looked to our archives and found some classic styles with the same tone of embroidery. Together with our production manager at the factory, I tweaked the materials and embroidery design a little bit in order to bring the design up to date.

The boots are one of my most treasured possessions now. I am wearing them for only the most important of occasions now!!!
My partner and I decided rather early, that our best men (we had no groomsmen, since they are all equally important – hence 6 best men ) should not wear the same outfits but rather should wear outfits that match their personality.
The only rule was that it has to be dark blue.
I thought it will be nice to give them something that ties them all together but is not so obvious. Hence, the idea of the matching moccasins for them was formed.

We already had a men’s moccasin sample that I could use as a base. But I wanted to change the embroidery on it so that they are not too similar to my boots and will show more the connection to my husband and me together.
We had an art-deco inspired meander design, that was kind of a overarching theme in all of our printings, etc. I took that as a base to make a new embroidery design for the moccasins – more graphic and abstract.
Our factory supported me in helping scaling the embroideries for all the different shoe sizes required. Our best men were so surprised how comfortable the moccasins were!
